3 Common Affiliate Mistakes and How To Avoid Them

As with doing any task you are bound to make mistakes along the way . Here are 3 very Common mistakes and how you can avoid Them

1. Joining Too many Programs and Promoting too many products.

 Because affiliate programs are free to join there is a temptation to join as many as possible and to try to promote as many products as possible.

This is a big mistake. You should be very selective in the programs you join and the products you promote. I only promote products that I personally use, and this in itself is a good way of limiting the products as it is impossible to physically use 100s of products.

Being successful as an affiliate involves getting trust from your visitor you don't want to sacrifice that by Promoting products just because they pay a good commission.

2. Joining The Wrong Programs and Promoting the Wrong Product-

The product you promote must be relevant to your site content and so it makes no sense trying to promote a life insurance program on a website about website hosting.

3. Promoting Just with Banner ads

 Banners ads can look really good but how effective are they? To most people they are ads and often just get ignored. Usually text links work better than image links and so it is usually much better to write a product review or similar to promote the product then to just simply splatter banners ads over your pages.
