Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a free service website monitoring service provided by Google.

It generates detailed statistics about website visitors that show you

How visitors find to a website
How long they spend on the site
How many pages they visit
What Keywords they used to find Your site
What pages were found by what keywords
Where they are from
How they converted
etc

You can sign up for Google Analytics and start using it on your website/sites straight away, and it's completely free.

You will need to add a bit of JavaScript to each web page on your site (see below). If you already have an established site I suggest that you start adding it to the main pages first and don't forget to add it to the site template.

Adding Analytics to Your Pages

Here is a picture of the analytics code on my pages. It starts with the opening script tag and closes with a closing script tag and is inserted just above the closing body tag.

Once added it Google with verify that it is present and you should start seeing statistics after a couple of days.
