RSS Feed Creation Software

There are two type of feed creation software that you can use

• Desktop
• Web Based
•  

Yhey both require that you manually enter in the feed properties like

Title, Description and Link and the tool produces the correct XML for the feed. It is a semi manual process in that unlike the full manual creation using a text were you were required to edit the xml file itself, this time you only need to enter text into text boxes on a form.

With web based creation tools they tend to take an existing web page and extract the data automatically from them. This may sound wonderful but you will have been required to have created the page initially (assuming it is from your site).

These tools are commonly called HTML scrappers and are often frowned upon as they have been extensively used by spammers creating RSS spam sites.

They are however ideal if you already have the data online in HTML form and want to create a feed from that data without having to type in each entry.

I have used them for creating RSS feeds from my article pages.
