Making a Web Page with Site Build-it

Site build-it makes making a web page easy. Web pages are created by simply copy and pasting between windows.

 Although you do not need a web page editor to make web pages with site build-it, I find that it makes it much easier if you use one.

I personally use Trellian Webpage and also Microsoft FrontPage for making the initial page. I then switch to HTML mode and copy the HTML direct into the site build-it window.

Although the process is very easy once you have done it a few times, the first time can be a bit confusing for beginners, and so I will walk you through the process. To make a web page log in site site build-it and select either the

• Add a Site builder Page
• Edit  Site builder Home Page or Edit this Page option

Before we edit/create the page you should be aware of how site build-it structures web pages.

Web Page Structure

A site build-it web page consists of a collection of blocks. the blocks are placed on top of each other to form a page as shown below:

The minimum web page consists of three blocks as illustrated above.

• Meta tag block -consisting of:
  File Name
  Web Page Title
  Keywords
• Headline block-The Headline
• Body block- The main text

The meta Tag block isn't strictly speaking a block and the information you enter here is not visible on the page ( see meta tags explained).

At the top you enter the meta tag information like file name, title, keywords, description. Help is available by clicking the question mark on the left side.

The Headline Block comes next followed by a text block which contains the page text. There can be multiple text blocks and graphic blocks on a web page.

Preview the page to make sure it looks as you expect and then you analyze the page to see if it correctly optimized before going on to build the page. Once built the web page will automatically be submitted to the search engines.

The automatic web page submission ensures that the pages are submitted according to the search engine guidelines, and re-submits the web pages if necessary.

As you can see the process is extremely simply and allows you to build optimized web pages quickly and simply just using your browser. The page optimization is extremely powerful and effective and will be covered in more detail in another article.
