In this exercise we are going to make a web page containing links. If you are not sure about hyperlinks and bookmarks then see this article-Understanding links.

Open a new page and type in the following text:

First we will insert a link to an external web page (www.build-your-website.co.uk).

To do this highlight the text that will form the link and click the chain icon as shown in the picture below. The hyperlink box opens select type as http and type in the link address in full as shown below and click ok.

The link appears in blue and underlined as shown below.

To create a link to a bookmark or anchor we need first to create the bookmark. Highlight the text you want to bookmark as shown below:

Next click the anchor icon

The Insert anchor dialog box is displayed  type in the name for this anchor.

Linking to the bookmark is like linking to an external page. Highlight the text that will link to the book and click the chain icon.

The hyperlink dialog box appears. Select type as other and in the URL field type in the name of the bookmark (here=bottom of page) with a hash sign (#) in front as shown below.

The final page appears below. Notice that links to a bookmark and links to an external page appear the same.
