To merge cells together highlight the cells you want to merge by clicking the mouse in the first cell and holding and dragging to cover the other cells. Click table>merge cells.

You can see the result below.

To change the table and cell properties right click the table of cell and select properties.

To change the table background colour right click the table and select properties. The table property sheet is displayed( see below).

Select the background colour and click ok. To change the cell colour right click the cell and select properties and choose the background colour and ok. Here I've change the table background and cell background colours.

Other things to try.

• To insert a cell then right click the cell  and click split cell.
• To delete a cell right click the cell and delete.
• If you make a mistake click edit undo to reverse the change.
