Make a Web Page-Exercise 1In this exercise we are going to make a web page containing a few headings and with some bold and coloured font. 1.Open Trellian webpage. 2. Because you are using a free version you see some advertising to close this go file>close and in bottom pane click the black cross at the top left hand corner to close this window. You should now have a blank grey screen 3. You may wish to turn off the tags detail by going to edit>folder options and deselecting show details. 4. Click file>new or the white paper icon at top left to open a new blank page. You should see a screen like the screen shot below. On the screen shot I have marked out the important areas of the toolbar. If you are not sure what an icon does just place your mouse over it and you will see a brief description.
5. The web page we are going to make is shown here. Open it and look at what we are trying to achieve. It is a web page with a few headings some bold and coloured text and a few paragraphs. 6. To start type the following : What are headings? You should see it displayed in normal text as shown below.
7. To convert the text to a heading then click anywhere on the line and select the heading from the drop down box (here heading1 ) and the text should change as shown below. The heading is centred by clicking the centre icon.
8. Complete the rest of the page. To create a new paragraph then type return if you don't type a return then the line will auto wrap depending on the ruler setting. In our example we are using 60cm. To create bold text then highlight the text and click the b button and to change the text colour highlight the text and select the new colour (far right). See screen shots below:
The Preview tab will show you the web page how it would appear in a browser. You can use the window size to see how it would appear in different screen sizes. If you want to view the HTML source code (see below) then click the source tab.
You can see from the above code snippet that it is much easier to make a web page with the Trellian Webpage editor than it would be to make it by typing the HTML code into a text editor.
